Overview & Highlights

Welcome to Lao-Viet Restaurant, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Nice, France. Located at 11 Rue d'Angleterre, this Vietnamese eatery combines authentic flavors with warm hospitality, making it a must-visit for both locals and travelers alike.

As a food reviewer at Menustic, I've had the pleasure of diving deep into the culinary offerings at Lao-Viet. What struck me most was the vibrant array of traditional dishes that transport your taste buds straight to Southeast Asia. The hu tieu, a delightful rice noodle soup, is a standout, known for its rich, umami-packed broth. It perfectly encapsulates the essence of Vietnamese cuisine—delicate yet bold.

Among customer reviews, Amelia Lam aptly described the food as “flavorful and delicious.” This sentiment resonates with many who have indulged in the restaurant's offerings. The banh beo and banh cuon, favorites of Ann Nguyen, showcase the restaurant's dedication to authenticity, bringing dishes that are often overlooked in typical Vietnamese restaurants across Europe. The attention to detail is palpable, and the flavors are a testament to the chefs’ expertise.

Visitors like Q. Yong have expressed that after a day of enjoying French delicacies, Lao-Viet serves as a refreshing respite. The revitalizing flavors and hearty portions will satisfy any Asian food craving at a remarkable price point, reaffirming that great food doesn’t have to break the bank.

Moreover, the staff at Lao-Viet are just as much a highlight as the dishes themselves. With reviews praising their warmth and attentiveness, it’s evident that the restaurant fosters a welcoming atmosphere where every guest feels valued. Celotehanyaya encapsulates this sentiment perfectly with her enthusiastic feedback about their “warm service” and “amazing food.”

If you find yourself wandering the streets of Nice and longing for a taste of Vietnam, Lao-Viet Restaurant is not just a dining option—it's a culinary journey worth embarking on. With delicious food, friendly service, and an authentic approach to Vietnamese cuisine, it's easy to see why this restaurant is rapidly becoming a favorite among both locals and visitors.

One of the best Vietnamese restaurants I have ever been to in Europe, Australia and America. Food is so flavourful and delicious we ordered another main after we finished our food. Wonderful, kind and helpful staff.

We visited for lunch during a short trip in the city and tried their hu tieu, banh beo, and banh cuon. The banh beo and banh cuon were really good. They have a lot of authentic dishes I rarely see in typical viet restaurants in Europe. Very attentive and friendly staff!

I was blown away. Very, very delicious, flavourful and umami. When I had to supplement my Asian stomach with proper Asian food after eating all those (delicious) French cuisines all day, Lao-Viet was like a godsend. And it's inexpensive.

Warm service, Good price, Amazing food! Real asian taste. Definitely will be back again.

The best vietnamese food i have tried outside Vietnam. Prices are really good as well. If you crave vietnamese/Lao food, this is the place to go. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone nearby.

The vietnamese food here was great. The bun bo hue was ‘chef’s kiss’ definitely my favourite! The iced coffee with milk was really good and the side dishes were flavourful as well.

To the review earlier this week that said this was one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in Europe, America, and Australia…thank you we came because of your review and dare I say the food here from appetizers to main dishes to dessert (the ones we tried) were even better than the ones we tried in Vietnam. After my first bite, I was thrown back into a whirlwind of nostalgia. We will be coming back for sure to try other dishes. The restaurant is small and packed, but is quite charming in its own way. Washrooms were exceptionally clean. The nice owner was able to speak Vietnamese, French, and English! You don’t want to miss this unexpected gem in Nice!

Exceptional food. Felt like eating in Vietnam with how fresh the food was. The service was superb and I would recommend this restraunt to anyone reading this message
